Tia Javier
M.A., M.S., CCC-SLP
Founder & Executive Director
Speech-Language PathologistTia is the founder of Bilinguatherapy, Central Virginia’s first bilingual pediatric therapy practice. A passionate multilingual clinician, this Richmond native speaks four languages—English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese—and navigates three dialects of English, allowing her to connect authentically with a wide range of clients and communities. She is raising bilingual children in a Spanish-speaking household and brings both lived experience and professional expertise to every aspect of her work.
Tia holds dual master’s degrees: one in Communication Sciences and Disorders and another in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture. She is also a certified Spanish interpreter and translator, with over 18 years of formal Spanish study and years of experience as a university-level Spanish professor. Tia leads Bilinguatherapy’s clinical services and in-house Spanish training program, while continuing to provide therapy, mentor clinicians, and advocate for language equity in healthcare.

Yawrely “Elly” Ramirez
M.A., CCC-SLP
Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
Joined June 2021Elly is a heritage Spanish speaker and our Lead SLP at Bilinguatherapy. She specializes in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Trisomy 21, fluency disorders, and a wide range of communication needs. Elly provides therapy in both English and Spanish and is highly regarded for her leadership, AAC expertise, and warm, collaborative approach with families.

Sydni Laws

Speech-Language Pathologist

Joined November 2024Sydni is a clinical fellow with a master’s degree from Howard University. She delivers therapy in Spanish and is actively enrolled in our in-house Spanish training program. Sydni brings experience from clinical, school, and telehealth settings and specializes in language, articulation, and cognitive-communication therapy. Her structured yet nurturing style helps children feel supported and successful.

Cassondra "Cassie" Usry

Occupational Therapist
Joined November 2022Cassondra—known as Cassie in our documentation—brings a strong foundation in pediatric therapy, early intervention, and outpatient care. With a background in Spanish, she connects naturally with bilingual families. Cassondra provides evidence-based therapy that is engaging, functional, and family-centered, blending creativity with structure to help children succeed.

Cassondra “Cici” Gilliam

Occupational Therapist
Joined August 2023Cici holds a doctorate in occupational therapy from VCU and has a diverse background in behavioral health, acute care, and school-based therapy. She is currently enrolled in Bilinguatherapy’s Spanish training program and already provides therapy in Spanish. Cici is passionate about building trust with families and fostering functional, play-based growth for every child.

Daniela Treviño

Joined January 2025Daniela is a skilled bilingual SLPA passionate about helping children find their voice in both English and Spanish. Her approach integrates cultural humility, family collaboration, and playful therapy to support meaningful progress. Daniela also has experience working in the public school system as an SLPA.

Alicia Alvarez

Joined July 2025Alicia is a bilingual SLP who graduated from Longwood University in May 2025. She has experience in schools, hospitals, and outpatient clinics, with expertise in language, speech sound disorders, feeding, and AAC. Alicia is passionate about helping children and families thrive in both English and Spanish through evidence-based, family-centered care.
